David Schoen – Your Next Assemblyman

Nevada raised.

David was born and raised in Las Vegas. Brought up in a middle-class household, he was raised by a single father working in the construction industry. After high school, the enconomy tanked, jobs disappeared and, to a graduate with no work experience, were essentially non-existent. David learned young that if he wanted to succeed in life, he needed dedication and a strong work ethic.

Military refined.

From 2009 through 2013, David served our country in the United States Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps as a paralegal. Assigned to the decorated XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, David  assisted with the successful prosecution of a high-profile capital murder case where the convicted is now one of only six condemned on the military’s death row, he worked with thousands of service members and their families on family law and estate planning issues, and he provided legal support to our fighting forces.

Family focused.

After the Army, David moved back to Las Vegas, settling in to a Mountain's Edge home with his wife, Julie, and three beautiful daughters. To David, family is the backbone of community; this is why it was important to raise his children in a great neighborhood with high-ranking schools and low crime. He is active with his daughters as a Girl Scout Dad and as the Vice President of their school's PTSO.

Community driven.

David continued his post-military career fighting for families and doing his part to create better situations out of high-conflict homes. He's excelled in his profession, earning Advanced Certified Paralegal  credentials in two distict areas of family law. David owns a small business that developed a co-parenting communication application to help struggling parents focus on their children. David's passion for helping families let him to volunteer with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's Educational Surrogate Program, where he advocates for special needs children in foster care.

 On the Issues

Family First.

Keeping families safe and providing opporunity to thrive is David's #1 priority. He supports more cops in our community, and want to ensure our officers have the resources they need.

You should also keep as much of your paycheck as possible in your own pocket. With that in mind, David will not support tax increases and will push to ensure that every tax dollar is used appropriately, and that wasteful spending is redirected to programs that help strengthen our community.

Economy & Jobs.

Small businesses—the "mom and pop shops" owned and operated by your neighbors—are the backbone of our economy and our community. David will not support placing a heavier financial burden on business; instead, he pledges to create a more desirable business climate for Nevada.

David supports expanding infrastructure projects in the Southwest, as many roads and connectors were left incomplete when the economy crashed. Efficiently completing roadways, building more schools, and showing that our neighborhoods are ready for business is a top priority.

Community Growth.

David will help put our State back on the path to success through a better quality of education
We should work smarter, not harder, to give our children the best opportunities to succeed.
David support school choice inititatives and believes parents should decide what is best for their children. At the same time, David will work to hold our public school officials accountable for financial mismangement at the peril of our teachers and students.

Our community will only thrive if we give this new generation the tools to be our next leaders and entrepreneurs.
